Dr. Michael E. Seem is a board-certified Orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery, including complex revision procedures. Originally from Martinsburg, WV, he earned his medical degree at West Virginia University School of Medicine. He then completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he won 1st place in the Annual Resident Research Day for his work on virtual reality in surgical training. He later completed fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction at the Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic in Alexandria, VA, mastering advanced techniques like the anterior approach to the total hip, partial knee replacements, robotic-assisted surgery, and computer navigation.
Dr. Seem is passionate about improving patient outcomes through technology and personalized care. By leveraging advancements in robotic surgery and artificial intelligence, he provides precise, effective solutions to restore mobility and quality of life.
With multiple peer-reviewed publications on total joint arthroplasty, Dr. Seem is dedicated to advancing the field while delivering innovative, personalized care to his patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Seem values time with his wife, son, and their two dogs. He enjoys golfing, running, and cooking with his family. He believes in maintaining an active lifestyle and encourages his patients to do the same as part of their journey to wellness.
